It may be have been the day of prom for Summit High Schools’ juniors and seniors but that did not prevent the upperclassmen from performing well at the Steamboat Springs Invitational track and field meet.
The last few weeks have been tough for the Summit track and field team. It has had to endure spring snow storms and high winds at practices and meets. However, the Tigers resilience paid off.
From Feb. 19-20, the Summit Nordic Ski Club competed in the final Rocky Mountain Nordic junior nationals qualifying races of the season. Summit Nordic Ski Club athletes competed at Maloit Park in Minturn for two.
From Jan. 2-7, a group of four Summit Nordic Ski Club skiers represented Summit County as they competed at the U.S. National Cross-Country Skiing Championships in Midway, Utah. The national meet is the highest level.
