WT communication students, faculty honored with 19 National Broadcasting Society Awards WTAMU Newsroom CANYON Communication students and faculty in the West Texas A&M University chapter of the National Broadcasting Society won 19 awards during the annual National Electronic Media Association/NBS-AERho conference. WT was recognized with three awards within the NBS-AERho Association Awards and was one of three winners named as national Chapter of the Year. Rachel Widder, the president of WT’s NBS chapter, was selected as the Alpha Epsilon Rho Member of the Year. Freshman Jordan Conde earned Student Member of the Year, Honorable Mention. “Being recognized at a national level for the time and effort I put into NBS is extremely rewarding and humbling,” Widder said. ....
Missouri Valley College students recently received awards from the Missouri Broadcast Educators Association (MBEA). This organization is made up of mass communication departments from colleges and universities across the state of Missouri. Each year, students enter audio and video projects that are judged by industry professionals. Missouri Valley College students received six awards, and there were 29 categories with winners from 13 different schools this year. MVC won the Multicamera Live Sports Event category for the “Valley-CMU Women’s soccer match” from the fall of 2020. Missouri Valley College has won a multi-camera category in the contest six of the last seven years. ....
