In an announcement on Thursday, Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza said a grand jury did not return an indictment for a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and Austin Police officer for a shooting that happened in August 2022.
The grand jury found that the Austin Police Department officer and Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper were "not unlawful" in their actions.
