Olympic swimmers postpone second vaccine dose until after trials

Olympic swimmers postpone second vaccine dose until after trials 14/05/2021|6min Australian Olympic Committee Vice President Ian Chesterman says the Olympic swimmers will not receive their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine until after their swimming trials. “It made sense to be able to allow them to perform without having had the jab just before that most important meet,” he said. “So they’ll get their second injection immediately … [after] the trials finish. “All the athletes have now had their first jab, we should have completed that today”. There is normally a three week wait between doses of the Pfizer vaccine, but the swimming trails which begin on June 12 were deemed to be too close to the dates for the second jab.
