Blair Oaks coach Sharon Buschjost was feeling lonely in the third-base coach’s box for the first four innings Tuesday night. Then, in the fifth and sixth innings, nearly every batter stopped by third base to keep her company.
WARDSVILLE — The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons are making it a habit to finish their softball seasons with an appearance in the Final Four. Last year was no exception, but capping 2021 with the program’s second state championship had a nice ring to it.
The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons came close to winning a track and field state title last May. They have the pieces to be competitive among the state’s top athletes again this season. “With the great athletes we lost, you wonder how great we’re going to be this year,” Blair Oaks girls coach Marc Keys said. “After seeing the incoming freshmen and who we’ve got coming in, I think we’re going to be a little better than I thought."
