Judgment on widow Mulalo Sivhidzo's alleged involvement in the murder of her husband, former City Press editor Mathatha Tsedu's son, Avhatakali Netshisaulu, is set to coincide with the anniversary of his death today
Netshisaulu's family was expected to start their day at the scene where his charred body was found in the boot of his VW Citi Golf on the evening of December 7, 2006, in a bush in Honeydew.
This was scheduled to happen before they made their way to the High Court in Johannesburg to hear judgment on their daughter-in-law now accused of having arranged her husband's murder.

'Black widow' fails to win appeal for hired murder of her husband

The high court in Johannesburg has dismissed convicted killer Mulalo Sivhidzho’s appeal against her sentence and conviction for her involvement in the murder of her husband, Avhatakali Netshisaulu.
In 2011, Sivhidzho, infamously known as the “black widow”, was sentenced to a life sentence plus eight years for hiring hitmen to kill Netshisaulu. They had been married just under a year at the time of the December 2006 killing.
Netshisaulu was kidnapped, robbed and burnt alive while locked inside the boot of his car.
In December 2012, the Supreme Court of Appeal granted Sivhidzho leave to appeal against the conviction and sentence and there were delays in executing the appeal due to the reconstruction of the record.

The mother of murdered Avhatakali Netshisaulu described his widow Mulalo Sivhidzo as having been unco-operative with police, the High Court in Johannesburg heard today
Handing down his ruling Judge Naren Pandya began reading out Netshisaulu's mother Dzudzanani Netshisaulu's statement to the police on incidents leading to Sivhidzo’s arrest.
According to the statement Sivhidzo was rude and unco-operative when police contacted her to inform her that they had arrested a suspect, and wished to interview her and her mother-in-law.

JOHANNESBURG - The High Court in Johannesburg has on Friday dismissed Mulalo Sivhidzho's bid to appeal her conviction and sentence for the 2006 murder of her husband.
Sivhidzho and two of her co-accused were found guilty of the murder and kidnapping of Avhatakali Netshisaulu after his body was found in the boot of his burnt-out car.

Netshisaulu 2006 gruesome murder: Killer wife's life sentence appeal dismissed

Convicted murderer Mulalo Sivhidzho’s appeal of a life sentence for the brutal killing of her husband was dismissed by the Johannesburg High Court on Friday.
Chartered accountant Avhatakali Netshisaulu was burnt alive on December 7 2006 and his charred remains were found in the boot of his car in a veld in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg.
DNA tests confirmed Netshisaulu’s identity.
Sentencing in the well publicised murder case was delivered by the same court in 2011.
Sivhidzho was sentenced to life for hiring hitmen, Ntabudzeni Matzhenene and Arnold Sello, to murder her husband of nine months.
Netshisaulu, the son of former City Press editor Mathatha Tsedu, had moved into a new house for a week with Sivhidzho before his murder.
