'Hunt, Gather, Parent' Offers Lessons Collected Around The World There are many parenting books out there. But NPR's Michaeleen Doucleff says all the parenting books that she read after becoming a mom left a lot out. "I'm trained as a scientist. I spent seven years as a chemist and I really believed that the parenting advice we got today was backed by really stringent scientific research," she says. "And when I started looking at the studies as a scientist, I was really, really let down." She couldn't find answers to the trouble that she was having with her young daughter, Rosy.

Universal Studios has won the film rights to "Falling," the debut novel of former flight attendant T.J. Newman in a seven figure deal.

Falling is being described as Speed at 35,000 feet. The novel will follow the story of 140-plus passengers on a crowded flight from New York to L.A., who don’t know that a half-hour before takeoff, their pilot’s family was kidnapped. Now, in order for his family to live, the pilot must follow orders and crash their plane. While much of the story takes place in the air, there is also said to be a relentless FBI agent trying to save the family on the ground.

The narrative is a horror story - a different kind of airplane read - gave the author chills.
