LAHORE: Lahore Police cleared most of the road blockades in the City on Thursday. Police along with Rangers troops conducted grand operations to clear the blocked roads. CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar led the operations to clear roads and locations.
Dogar, late last night visited different areas of the city including roads and locations blocked at Shanghai Bridge, Daroghawala and Babu Sabu Chowk by the violent activists and protestors. High ranking officers of Rangers, DIG Operations Sajid Kiani, SSP Operations, divisional SSP and other officers accompanied him. CCPO Lahore reviewed the overall law and order situation of the city as well as implementation process on operational strategy for clearance of the blockade of roads.

ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI/LALAMUSA/ LAHORE: The government has decided to ban Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) under Anti-Terrorism ACT as its activists, supporters and workers have been carrying out violent protests across the country for last three days against the arrest of their chief.
“The Punjab government has requested to ban TLP and summary would be forwarded to cabinet for approval,” Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said while addressing a press conference on Wednesday. He said TLP is being banned due to its involvement in violent acts in the country.
Two policemen were martyred and 340 personnel sustained injuries due to violent protests in last three days, the minister said. He said that TLP leaders used to come to all rounds of talks with the government after issuing instructions to their workers regarding road closures. He said the TLP workers were very much ready to create further unrest and it has been decided to ban TLP and file in this regard is being moved to the cabinet for the approval. Sheikh Rashid said the TLP workers through blocking roads had stopped ambulances from reaching their destinations and obstructed the transport of oxygen cylinders for COVID-19 patients being treated at various government hospitals.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Wednesday announced that the government had decided to ban the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), whose supporters and workers have been carrying out violent protests across the country for three days after the arrest of their chief.
In a tweet, he said the religiopolitical outfit would be banned under Rule 11(b) of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), 1997.
Rashid said the Punjab government had recommended a ban on the organisation, for which a summary was being sent to the federal cabinet.

A large number of goods transporters from all over Punjab will join the sit-in protest in Lahore.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Mini Mazda Association has rejected the recent increase in the fuel prices by the government and announced to stage a sit-in protest in Lahore today (Tuesday), Dunya News reported.
According to sources, the association has announced to block Lahore’s Baba Sabu Chowk at 8:00 AM to stage a sit-in protest and vowed to continue their strike till acceptance of their demands.
Sources further said that a large number of goods transporters from all over Punjab will join the sit-in protest in Lahore. It was also decided to go on a wheel jam strike across Punjab against the increase in fuel prices.

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri inaugurated the crematorium (Shamshan Ghat) in Lahore for Hindus and Sikhs to perform last rituals of their dead ones.
Earlier, the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) had approved Rs14 million for upgrading of Shamshan Ghat established near Babu Sabu Chowk, Ravi River. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deputy Secretary Admin Rashna Fawad, spokesperson board Amir Hashmi, Chairman Pakistan Hindu Welfare Council Dr Munawar Chand and all the members of the Evacuee Trust Property Board. The ETPB had built a crematorium on 34 kanals and 13 marlas of land to perform the last rites of Hindus and Sikhs in the outskirts of Lahore 18 years ago but the crematorium was completely destroyed by the floodwaters.

A crematorium developed at a cost of ₹16 million for Hindus and Sikhs was inaugurated here on January 14, 18 years after the Pakistani government allocated the land for it.
