Developing now, a complicated legal case where a little girl was removed from basically the only home she ever knew because of a law meant to protect native american children. so it all started in 2011 when the lupos became foster parents to a 1-year-old girl they are calling baby elle. two years later they wanted to adopt her. her birth mother had already lost her parental rights and her biological father was about to serve time in prison for assault with a deadly weapon. he quickly, though, registered with the cherokee tribe, and the state determined that baby elle was 1% native american and have now pulled her from the lupos home. now since her biological father can t take custody of her, he s in prison, she was replace eplaa half-brother who is not even native american. her adoptive parents join me now. thank you so much for joining me and telling the story for the first time across the nation today. thank you. ....
