A MEMORIAL tree will be planted to remember the life of a much-loved bus driver who was fatally injured in a cycling collision.
Ronald Warriner was fatally injured after colliding with a parked trailer in Walney Promenade in July 2020. The 66-year-old Barrow man, known as Ronnie the Rocket, worked as a bus driver at St Pius X Catholic Primary School. He played rugby for Walney Central and Barrow Masters teams for a number of years. Tributes paid after his death described a 'small person with a big heart'. A hearing is due to be held at Cockermouth Coroner's Court on January 26. According to records, Mr Warriner died in Preston. Coroner Craig Smith will lead the hearing which is expected to 90 minutes.
