A headline-making challenge to a book in the Dover High School library raises the question of who is responsible when someone objects to a book in a public school library
The ACLU of New Hampshire and GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders warned removing books would violate the First Amendment and criticized the New Hampshire Department of Education’s response.
Dozens of book titles have been pulled from Wisconsin schools after parent complaints.
“The book is based on in-depth research,” author Barry Lyga wrote. “It was based on discussion with abuse survivors and law enforcement officials."
