Fire & Vine Hospitality scholarship supports underrepresented students | WSU Insider

The Washington State University School of Hospitality Business Management and Fire & Vine Hospitality recently established the Fire & Vine Scholarship in Hospitality, awarding $10,000 each to seven students interested in hospitality careers.
The scholarship aims to give underrepresented students a pathway to careers into an industry that lacks black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC).
“The BIPOC community is underrepresented in the hospitality industry, and we are excited to partner with Fire & Vine Hospitality to help change that,” said Bob Harrington, director of the WSU School of Hospitality Business Management. “As a college, we are committed to giving underrepresented students equal opportunity to achieve academic and career success, and scholarships are a critical tool in that mission.” ....

Fire & Vine Hospitality recently established a scholarship with the Washington State University Carson College of Business to award seven $10,000 scholarships to incoming first-year students or freshmen with a declared interest in hospitality business management or wine and beverage business management.
Students are invited to apply online by 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 5. Preference will be given to underrepresented students.

METIS, the premier M&A advisory firm in the Pacific Northwest focused on the global adult beverage and hospital industries, today announced it has advised Walla Walla based Basel Cellars Estate on a transaction concerning the sale of Basel Cellars encompassing the winery, vineyard, brand, inventory, equipment, and all real property, including the on-site Estate Resort and Event Facilities.
 
A new ownership group includes Walla Walla residents and business owners Dan Thiessen, Paul Mackay, and Philip Christofides of the Walla Walla Steak Company and Crossbuck Brewing. Chad Mackay of Fire & Vine Hospitality, and Scott Clark, principal at Clark Property Development, round out the leadership team. This new group will continue to operate Basel Cellars Estate as an exceptional wine country lodging and event location while developing plans for further winery and hospitality expansion on the property.  ....
