Encore: Shepherd commemorates provost’s legacy, names interim replacement

SHEPHERDSTOWN The unexpected passing of beloved Shepherd University Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Scott Beard on March 28 left the university and surrounding community in shock. Over the following weeks, various commemorations and virtual concerts were held in honor of the talented and renowned pianist, including by the Salon Series and Two Rivers Chamber Orchestra.
On May 9 at 3 p.m., a final event this school year, “Encore: A Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Dr. Robert Scott Beard (August 24, 1964-March 28, 2021),” will be held in honor of Beard in Shepherd University’s Butcher Center. ....
