About 20 black bears will be captured and collared to collect GPS data in western and central Montana this summer.

Fifteen miles of single-track trail that gain as much as 2,000 feet are spread across the working ranch located south of Absarokee.
A total of 258 animals were killed this season. That’s down from last year’s 273, which was below the highest on record of 329 taken in the 2020-21 season.
