SIR - The T&A reported on January 14 a meeting of The West Yorkshire Combined Authority Transport Committee. The Committee sounded in self congratulatory mood over an “ongoing increase” in the use of new cycle lanes and walking routes. As an aside, I thought the latter were called footpaths and are in plentiful supply. SIR - Bradford MP Naz Shah is quoted in the T&A on December 14 as asking Bradford Council to adopt The Vision Zero Strategy. This is an aim to eliminate road traffic related fatalities and injuries. I am sure the aim is well-meaning but in my view is just smoke and mirrors used by politicians to avoid the real cause of a problem. The old saying is still true, there is no such thing as a dangerous road, only a dangerous driver.
