Goodman’s school board had reached out to all neighboring schools, District Administrator Ben Niehaus told the board. Other school districts also were not interested, he said. Goodman successfully passed a three-year, $750,000 per year referendum in 2019 and are preparing for another in 2022. G-AC District Administrator Steve Bloom said while making the push for the last referendum, some residents wondered if the school board had approached other districts about consolidation. In other business, the board; Honored Meg Dallapiazza for her years of working with the district as part of the Food, Fun and Fitness program and many other programs at the school. She is retiring as UW Extension 4-H Youth Development Agent. ....

The iPads will purchased from Apple Inc. because they offer the best price with the education discount, said Monica Chartier, the district’s director of technology. The iPads will be placed in the library for student use but also will be used by 4-year-old kindergarten students when needed. The district in 2020 eliminated maintaining separate one-to-one devices for 4K. In other business, the board: Learned the district is up four students from its September third Friday count. Enrollment is at 381, with total membership up from 465 students to 473 students, Superintendent Ben Niehaus said. ....
BEN NIEHAUS FLORENCE, Wis. – The Florence County School District will try again in April to gain voter approval on an operational referendum that failed in November after being in place since 2005. The Florence County School Board on Monday authorized placing the measure on the April 6 ballot. District residents balked Nov. 3 on backing a fifth referendum for covering operating costs. At the November board meeting after the election, several board members said a number of voters told them they didn’t vote or voted no because they weren’t sure what they were voting on. The district now plans to send an informational flyer about the referendum to county residents by the second week of February, Superintendent Ben Niehaus told the board. They are also considering restoring a frequently asked questions link on the website to provide more information. ....
