Chiedu Ebie, the newly appointed board chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was a suspect in former Governor James Ibori’s illicit financial schemes that led him to jail. President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday approved the appointment of a new board and management of the NNDC which was led by Lauretta Onochie. The President subsequently approved the appointment of a new board and management of the NDDC to be headed by Chiedu Ebie from Delta State as the chairman.

Talakawa’s Parliament, an affiliate of the Network of Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria (NOCSON), has written to the Inspector-General of Police, notifying him that his office's directive over the unlawful dismissal of a police sergeant was ignored.    In a letter dated September 30, 2022, the non-profit organisation that seeks to advocate for human rights, among others lamented the wrongful dismissal of Sgt. Aiguobasinmwin Esosa and the failure of the police force to reinstate him despite a court ruling asking the police authorities to do so.
