The San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all involved for another successful tree lighting! The Island Light Festival was a wonderful and festive event, filled with community spirit and holiday cheer. The dedication and hard work of Casey Baisch and his team of elves worked for weeks on getting the lights in place. We had cookies and cocoa from Riptide Café and thank them as well as Benj Ross, Santa Claus, the Town of Friday Harbor and Island Rec who all contributed to the success of the event. Our tree lighting was a touch different this year due to the sad demise of the big tree in Memorial Park. Despite the circumstances, the Town made the most of it and presented us with a unique tree with twinkling lights. When the tree was lit the crowd cheered!
