Castle Cary (BMI) Ltd applied to redevelop the former BMI complex on the A371 Cumnock Road to deliver a total of 81 new homes for the town. South Somerset District Council turned down the plans in mid-2019, leading to the developer lodging an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate.
