The Quebec government will invest $29 million to support citizen initiatives in the fight against climate change.
The government announced the new committee as municipalities clamour for additional funding to deal with the effects of extreme weather.
Province has already invested $249.3 million into stations as it attempts to reach its goal of 2 million electric cars on Quebec's roads by 2030.
This is the second major electric vehicle announcement the government has made this week alone, following Tuesday's news of a new copper foil factory for EV car batteries.
