My Wellington: Stalwart of Wellington's Berhampore School on coffee, people-watching and the South Coast

ROSA WOODS/Stuff
Mark Potter has been a Wellingtonian for 23-years, since he took over as principal of Berhampore Primary School.
For the past 23-years Mark Potter
(Te Āti Awa
) has been shaping young minds as Berhampore Primary School’s principal. Originally from the tiny community of Ongaonga
, in Central Hawke's Bay, here's his take on what it means to be a Wellingtonian.
How long have you been a Wellingtonian?
I’ve lived in Wellington for 23 years, but my parents were born and bred in Wellington. I grew up in Central Hawke’s Bay, a rural farming area, then started my working life in Manawatū and Taranaki, and then my wife and I just sort of drifted down and stayed ever since.
