A Beaver Lake man was arrested Saturday, Dec. 5, after running from Berryville police officers, Berryville police chief Robert Bartos said. Samuel Clarence Alburtis, 31, was arrested at the Berryville Memorial Cemetery on charges of fleeing and resisting arrest and warrants for shoplifting and failure to appear on public intoxication and carrying a weapon. Bartos said a Berryville police officer responded to Caseys General Store at 505 W. Trimble Ave. on Saturday after receiving a report that Alburtis was there. When the officer tried to arrest Alburtis for outstanding warrants, Bartos said, Alburtis fled. They had chased him around to Subway then across the street there and back through the trailer park, Bartos said. We were able to catch him at the cemetery. ....
