The church and graveyard are both on the National Register of Historic Places with the cornerstone of the church being placed in 1861 just as the Civil War broke out. Jackmon has partnered with the Pennsylvania Hallowed Grounds Project, which is committed to raising awareness of the burial sites and legacies of American colored troops and other early black Pennsylvanians.
