KR Circle underpass to get much-needed tweaks

Dr. BR Ambedkar Veedhi Road is one of the most important roads in the city with the Vidhana Soudha situated along the road. The stretch between Matsya Darshini and KR Circle sees regular slow-moving traffic with oncoming traffic from MG Road and Kasturba Road. KR circle also sees traffic coming from Sheshadri Road, Post Office Road and Nrupathunga Road.

BESCOM started the conversion of the transformers with a special design for the safety of pedestrians in 2017. Nearly seven years later, BESCOM has converted 5,781 transformers within the Bangalore Metropolitan Area Zone (BMAZ area). The work has been taken up in two phases.

Good news for Bengaluru EV owners. Reliance BP to set up 225 public charging stations in city

Bengaluru will have 225 public charging stations set up by Reliance BP Mobility Limited. These stations will have both AC and DC chargers, with a total of 1,190 AC chargers. Karnataka leads in EV charging infrastructure in India, followed by Maharashtra and Delhi.

BBMP, KSPCB swoop down on illegal plastic making unit

During a routine drive against banned plastic, BBMP marshals discovered a unit that was producing plastic bags with no permission from BBMP or KSPCB. It was raids on shops nearby using the banned single-use plastic that led them to the unit. A fine of Rs 50,000 has been imposed for plastic trading as per SWM 2016 rules.
