The Bescom soon began covering junction boxes of street lights at some important locations in the city. However, the residents and pedestrians want the Bescom authorities to fix the problem on a permanent basis instead of what seems to be a knee-jerk reaction.
BESCOM, in collaboration with GIZ and DULT, plans to establish a solar-powered EV Charging Hub near Kempegowda International Airport. The hub will feature solar panels and a 2nd-life battery storage system.
The residents revealed that the lake was rejuvenated in 2018-2019, and it remained a beautiful place to visit often. However, over the years, maintenance and monitoring were not carried out, leaving it in a bad condition. While the residents have reached out to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) multiple times for the development of the lake, there has been no initiation from the department to prevent and preserve the lake.
“We have complained to all the authorities concerned against the encroachments on the footpath but in vain. The BBMP Health Inspector visits the spot and seizes LPG cylinders from eateries on the footpath in the morning but returns those LPG cylinders to the eateries by evening after receiving money from them,’’ says Surendra Reddy, a resident.
