Notice has been issued to the Additional Chief Secretary of Energy department, Managing Director of the Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) and others. Lokayukta Justice BS Patil has sought a report regarding the tragedy in two weeks. The case has been registered under the provisions of the Section 7(1)(B) of the Karnataka Lokayukta Act and others.
Despite electrocution incidents taking place at frequent intervals, the Bescom continues to be negligent to maintain the electric poles in the city. Dangling electric wires and electric poles with electric wires hanging, wide open termination boxes or junction boxes around them are a common sight at some of the locations, especially in newly developed areas and slums.

BBMP officials state that they are attempting to identify all properties within their jurisdiction that have been out of the tax net so far. They aim to identify properties without khata or unpaid property taxes, deeming them as B khata and subsequently collecting property tax. A BBMP official said that they have taken up the task of digitising the properties in the city and to begin with the pilot project has been taken up at four wards; CV Raman Nagar, Horamavu, Kodigenahalli and Arakere. This project is likely to be completed in three months.
