The collection of property tax is a major source of BBMP’s revenue. In 2021-22, the collection was Rs 3,033 crore, which increased to Rs 3,758 crore in 2022-23. This increase in property tax collection was about 24 per cent yearly. Mahadevapura, home to prominent tech hubs like Whitefield, holds the distinction of being Bengaluru’s most affluent zone, contributing the highest property tax to the city’s revenue.
