The community came through during the week to help the Cadiz Rotary Club raise more than $300,000 during the Rotary Auction that wrapped Friday night. After the fifth night of the Rally for Rotary that aired on WKDZ-FM and wkdzradio.com auction co-chairman J. B. Moore announced the club raised more than $317,000.

The Cadiz Rotary Club received a donation from the Hopkinsville Rotary Club that was matched because of Cadiz-Trigg County’s generosity. During Thursday night’s auction, the club had a $10,000 match for the Century Club. Hopkinsville Rotary President Scott Cowan and Auction Chair Cody Noffsinger presented a $1,000 donation to the Century Club. Both clubs are among the highest per capita when it comes to fundraising among Rotary International. The Cadiz Rotary Club dedicated night two of the annual auction week to Simone Parker and her family and raised more money for the youth and seniors of Trigg County. Parker, who passed away January 2 from complications of COVID-19, was a massive supporter of the organization and a teacher at Trigg County High School. She also led the Interact Club at the school, with one of the activities the group did, help out at the in-person auction at the Cadiz Baptist Church Annex.
