A US judge in Michigan has ruled that a 42-year-old man can seek compensation from his parents for destroying his pornography collection.
David Werking, who was living with his parents following a divorce, sued them over the items, which he claims were worth over $25,000 (£18,500).
His parents argued that they told Mr Werking to not bring the items home.
The judge said that, even as landlords, Mr Werking s parents had no right to dispose of items owned by their son.
Mr Werking had lived with his parents in Grand Haven, Michigan, for 10 months after his divorce, but moved out in August 2017. He now lives in Indiana. ....

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (FOX 2) - A federal judge has ruled a man who sued his parents for getting rid of his pornography collection in western Michigan and can seek compensation.
Federal Judge Paul Maloney ruled in favor of David Werking this week, saying that his parents, Paul and Beth Werking of Grand Haven, destroyed his collections of DVDs, VHS, and other pornographic materials in 2018.
According to the Holland Sentinel, David s original lawsuit was filed in federal court in April 2019 and said his parents destroyed a large amount of pornography he left behind when he moved out of their house at the request of local law enforcement . He had lived in their home for ten months after a divorce before moving to Muncie, Indiana. ....

A couple in western Michigan will have to repay their son for throwing away his prized pornography collection.
On Monday, a federal judge ruled that the son, who filed his lawsuit in April 2019, can seek financial compensation from his parents, as reported by local paper the

OTTAWA COUNTY A Grand Haven couple must pay their 42-year-old son back after destroying the son’s extensive pornography and sex toy collection, according to a federal judge.
Paul and Beth Werking, of Grand Haven, were sued by their son David Werking after they destroyed his collection of DVDs, VHS tapes and other pornographic materials in 2018. The son estimates the value of his collection to be around $25,000.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court in April 2019. In the lawsuit, David Werking claimed his parents illegally destroyed a large amount of pornography that he had left behind at his parents’ house when he moved out at the request of local law enforcement in August 2017. The son now lives in Indiana. ....
