Philomath High’s 10-graduate class of 1923 listened to a local pastor during a baccalaureate sermon prior to the commencement ceremony planned to take place four days later. That along with items on the buggy accident in 1873, miscellaneous news in 1898, injured bicyclist in 1923, veterans honored in 1948 and the new police chief in 1973 in this week’s From the Past.
