A galaxy-sized experiment yields evidence for gravitational wave background and fulfils long-standing dreams. G.S. Mudur reports
Scientists are hyped about a new discovery of giant gravitational waves. Seeing and hearing gravitational waves may unlock the universe's darkest secrets.
Gravitational waves were first detected in 2015 using an experiment involving Laser Interferometer Gravitational Observatory (LIGO) detectors. But those waves were of high frequency, believed to be produced by the merger of two small black holes that took place about 1.3 billion years ago.

An International team of astronomers from India, Japan and Europe has recently published the results from monitoring nature's best clocks, pulsars using six of the World's most sensitive radio telescopes, including India's largest telescope, uGMRT. These results provide scintillating evidence for the relentless vibrations of the fabric of our universe caused by ultra-low frequency gravitational waves.
