Local non-profits to receive federal funding to expand employment and other opportunities

Nine organizations in Central Ontario have been awarded funding to help create employment and strengthen the nonprofit and charitable sector, including 4 in Grey-Bruce.
Community Foundation Grey Bruce and Georgian College have partnered to disperse over $341,000 to the groups through the Government of Canada’s Investment Readiness Program, through Community Foundations of Canada.
Eat Local Grey Bruce in Owen Sound was awarded $45,000 to formalize policies and procedures, complete full financial assessments and perform strategic planning for sustainable
growth.
$38,634 will go to fund the Launch Pad Youth Activity and Technology Centre in Hanover, for a feasibility study & business plan to operate an ice cream truck as employment training for youth. ....

The Community Foundation Grey Bruce has partnered with Georgian College to provide funding to nine organizations that are working to create jobs, strengthen the charitable and non-profit sector and address social challenges.
The organizations, which will share more than $340,000 in funding through the initiative, are spread out across central Ontario, but include four in Grey-Bruce, according to a news release from the partners.
