Live music, hands-on educational science activities and demonstrations, Children’s Day celebrations, art displays, crafts and even a party for Cinco De Mayo are on tap this weekend.
Check out where the Easter Bunny will be hopping around the island this weekend and get ready to celebrate everything hula and Hawaiian during the 61st annual Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo.
Festivities will include chef-inspired cuisine, beverages, live music and art, DJ with dancing, vendors, face painting, games and a photo booth for keiki against a backdrop of Hualalai and panoramic views of the Kailua-Kona skyline.
“Yer Boy O” is emceeing the event. Attendees will enjoy the sweet sounds of Vaughn Valentino and Ku Ma’ema’e, followed by crowd favorite Alexander the Amazing Magician.

In these classes students will learn the building blocks of theater and pick up life skills such as public speaking, problem solving and working as part of a team.
