Bizarre Cat Bazaar will replace Frozen Dead Guy Days in Nederland and honor Fred the cat, a friendly stray who won town mayor in the late '70s. It will hold almost 30 vendors, a giant pool, all-day performances and a cat-themed costume contest.

Frozen Dead Guy Days got started as a small community event more than 20 years ago. It came about because of an improbable series of events that brought the cryogenically frozen body of a dead Norwegian man—the locals call him ”Grandpa”—to Nederland.
