An influx of private equity money meant that the market for Dublin pubs did not collapse during 2020, as it did for pubs outside the capital. Thirteen Dublin pubs sold last year for a total of over €41m, compared to 16 transactions totalling €57m in 2019. CONOR McGregor has given his own personal stamp of approval to the Dublin pub he has splashed out €3 million on - by namechecking his  Proper 12 whiskey brand on its sign. New signage has just been unveiled on the Black Forge Inn in Dublin, which shows that the UFC fighter has kept the original name of the bar. But he has left locals in no doubt that he’s the new landlord of the boozer by highlighting ‘Proper 12’ in small writing underneath the name Black Forge Inn. A JUDGE has granted the transfer of the Black Forge Inn in Dublin ahead of its relaunch by MMA star Conor McGregor. The premises was purchased earlier this year and a successful application was made today at Dublin District Court by new operators, Jemi Ventures Ltd, to transfer of the pub licence. The firm’s director is Alan Geraghty and the company secretary is Dee Devlin, McGregor’s partner. The popular Drimnagh venue has been closed for a major revamp ahead of it’s reopening.
