In March 2022, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) released its State of the Teaching Profession report. For the 2020-2021 school year, New Hanover County Schools had a slightly higher attrition rate than the state average. WHQR checked in with some teachers who left the profession — and asked what’s being done to keep them in the classroom.
