NM Boys, Girls Sweep HLV by RD Keep NEW SHARON – North Mahaska plated a run in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday to edge visiting HLV 5-4. The victory pushed the Warhawks into a tie for first in the league with Lynnville-Sully. The Warhawk girls scored four runs in the first and held HLV scoreless to win 5-0. NM Boys Down EV on Senior Night by RD Keep NEW SHARON – North Mahaska celebrated its five seniors following its South Iowa Cedar League baseball contest with English Valleys Thursday. It was a fitting tribute as those five accounted for eight of North Mahaska’s 13 scored runs in a 13-3 victory. North Mahaska hit the ball hard but held just a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the fourth inning when the wheels fell off the English Valleys wagon. Twelve Warhawks came to the plate as they scored eight runs on six hits and two errors to gain an 11-1 lead.

NM Hoopsters Sweep Tigerhawks COLFAX – A pair of North Mahaska basketball players ripped the cords for their respective teams as North Mahaska swept South Iowa Cedar League foe Colfax-Mingo Friday night. The girls won 56-30 while the boys picked up a 77-51 win. Junior Layla Hargis poured in 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the 13th-ranked NM girls.
