The Center of Concern’s Blarney Bash celebration is back in-person this year and is slated for Saturday, March 11, beginning with the Blarney Dash 5K. Check-in is at 8:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. The race starts and finishes on Prairie Avenue at River Road in Des Plaines behind Brookdale Senior Living.
St. Patrick Catholic School’s annual Blarney Bash is turning into a Blarney Dash this year. A virtual 5K race is being added to the school's largest fundraiser of the year, which also includes an online auction and a raffle through the Knights of Columbus. St. Patrick's, located at 1800 S. Grand Ave., serves a student population where nearly all have high financial need. Proceeds from the Blarney Bash fund needed supplies and equipment for students and teachers and help to provide scholarships to students who could not otherwise obtain a faith-based education.
