Community rallies to celebrate New Horizons resident’s 101st birthday Community Content Dozens of well-wishers descended upon New Horizons at Choate on March 28 to celebrate the 101st birthday of the retirement community’s most senior resident, Lillian Braudis. The socially distanced festivities, which included a well-attended car parade and a visit from Woburn Mayor Scott Galvin, were covered by WHDH Boston 7 News. “The mayor came to see me,” said Braudis. “I really feel like a big shot now.” Staff at New Horizons, Braudis’ home of two years, organized the event. The centenarian is known throughout the independent and assisted living community for her fierce independence, quick wit and unfailing optimism, according to Christine Coakley, New Horizons’ executive director. ....
