UN in 'advanced' talks to open European centre of excellence
The United Nations is actively interested in setting up a European centre of excellence office in Enniscorthy from which it will roll-out initiatives and campaigns focusing on energy efficient housing. Chief Executive Officer of Wexford County Council, Tom Enright, confirmed to this newspaper that a number of meetings have taken place with senior figures within the UN with the most recent meeting taking place over Christmas.
