Explain what this all means. What is a contested convention . It is when none of the candidates arrive at the commission with the majority of delegates. By definition, they have to contest to reach a majority. Host if there is a candidate with a majority of the delegates but not a majority overall, what does that mean . Ben there is a magic number. You have to get more than that. There will be balloting when the delegates get there and to see if and then balloting your candidate can win enough delegates to get over the majority.
