Riker volunteers to participate in the program as well, serving on a Klingon ship. He is assigned as first officer of the Pagh. While Riker does research into Klingon culture, cuisine, and protocol, Mendon wanders the bridge, with his ego entering the room about twenty seconds before he arrives.
