Girl Scout gets veterans' accolades Carl Kieke Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6873 in Abilene honored a young woman as their Girl Scout of the Year during ceremonies last week. Olivia Hessock, now a freshman at Angelo State University, received the annual honor. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Norman Hessock of Abilene. Hessock graduated from Wylie in 2020 – one of the seniors with the misfortune of losing much of their senior year to the COVID pandemic. But before that, she was obviously quite busy.
