Israel-Hamas War: Gaza on the brink: Hospitals struggle, civilians flee, rising deaths and diplomatic initiatives
The Gaza Health Ministry reports that over 2,670 Palestinians have been killed and 9,600 wounded since the conflict began. This makes it the deadliest of the five Gaza wars for both sides. While in Hamas's October 7 assault, more than 1,400 Israelis have lost their lives, primarily civilians. Additionally, at least 199 Israelis, including children, have been captured by Hamas and taken into Gaza.
