Remove quarantine requirement for fully vaccinated travellers: federal report

A day after Premier Jason Kenney said Alberta could be ready to welcome domestic and international visitors within weeks, a federal advisory panel has recommended that Canada move to eliminate its mandatory quarantine requirements for travellers who have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
The recommendation, released by Canada’s COVID-19 Testing and Screening Expert and Advisory Panel on Thursday, has not yet been adopted. In a statement, federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu said the government will consider the panel’s recommendations but also said Canada will be “prudent” in its approach to travel and border measures, “keeping the health and safety of Canadians top of mind.” ....

Canada’s supply of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccines will come from the United States, the federal government said Friday, despite the vaccine manufacturer indicating just 12 days ago that those doses would come from India.
Canada has an agreement with AstraZeneca to buy 20 million doses of its vaccine, which is still awaiting approval from Health Canada.
