But Boris Johnson said the public should not be concerned about the progress of the vaccine rollout.
The Prime Minister said: We re very confident in all the vaccines that we re using. It s important for people to bear in mind that all of them, we think, are effective in delivering a high degree of protection against serious illness and death, which is the most important thing.

Britain is continuing to ramp up its vaccination efforts in a bid to soon relax lockdown measures with coronavius cases soaring in recent weeks. Now Health Secretary Matt Hancock has told the Commons the country is in the midst of one of the toughest periods of this pandemic . This came after the highest death toll since the pandemic began was announced on Wednesday.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock is due to address the nation today in the latest update on coronavirus, the UK’s vaccination programme and lockdown. Today the vaccination effort was extended to include those over the age of 70, with 3.8million people having already received their first vaccine.
