The crumbling foundation of the old Mercy hospital remained a large eyesore and the restaurant scene was just getting started when Emily McLaurin started her residency at St. Anthony Hospital in Midtown. But by the time she finished her residency in 2009, Midtown was a neighborhood in a midst of transition with an influx of restaurants, shops, entertainment and housing.
