PHOTO GALLERY: Kids Cardboard Boat Races held at Aquatic Center
The Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department held their annual Kids Cardboard Boat Races on Sunday, Jan. 21. Children ages 5 to 16 were signed up as an individual or as a team of up to four people and put their building skills to the test. Participants constructed a boat structure using cardboard, duct tape and water-based paint, and attempted to make it across the pool in the fastest time. Teams competed in age divisions based on the mean age of the team and were able to win in multiple categories.
