Griffith Public Schools officials are accusing the Town of Griffith of unnecessarily delaying approval of an addition to Elsie Wadsworth School, which they claim will potentially cost the school corporation upwards of $1 million.
If the referendum passes, it would institute a tax increase estimated at $0.3294 per $100 of assessed value.
The council unanimously voted to transfer the building, now known as Franklin Center, to the Redevelopment Commission.
The parks were set up by the fire department with no reduction to their emergency response capacity. People of all ages took the opportunity to use the spray parks with even the firefighters joining in, the city states. According to their news release, the effort was such a success that the city is looking at setting up more pop-up splash parks before the end of the summer, weather permitting.
