Record numbers of EU citizens have been granted the right to stay in the UK after Brexit, with London remaining the most popular place to live. As much as 17 percent of London s population is now made up of Europeans, with 1.6 million calling the British capital their home. In total, there are now 4.6 million EU nationals living and working in the UK, which is 1.5 million more than before Brexit, according to The Times. ....

The Brexit trade deal, implemented on January 1, has not ended the tensions between the UK and the EU over exports and imports. As both parties continue to adjust to the new relationship, the economic impact is being felt in Germany. Joachim Lang of the BDI, the main association of German industry, said in February that “supply-chain problems are hitting German companies very hard”.  ....

The UK and EU member states are still adjusting to the new London-Brussels relationship after the Brexit trade deal came into force. This has been seen in Germany, as exports from the country to the UK fell by almost a third in the first month under post-Brexit trading arrangements, new figures revealed. Germany’s official statistics body said the end of the Brexit transition period was responsible for a 30 percent year-on-year plunge in exports to the UK ....

Prime Minister Boris Johnson secured a trade deal with the EU, easing fears on both sides of the English Channel that had been sparked by a possible no deal scenario. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced today that he has secured a trade agreement with the EU. He said that the UK has now taken back control of its laws, waters and destiny .
